Biography

BACKGROUND: Scott is from Ashton Under Lyme near Manchester and started acting in his early 20’s.

TELEVISION: 

Scott Wright joined Coronation Street playing series regular Sam Kingston for 3 years between 2000 and 2002 and appeared in around 140 episodes.The character had several jobs in Weatherfiled including a mechanic at Kevin’s garage. He also retained a love interest with the character of Toyah Battersby played by Georgia Taylor. 

During his 3 year stint on the street Scott was nominated for at the National Television Award’s as most popular newcomer. Scene’s Scott took part in were voted amongst the 50 most memorable moments in the shows history by Broadcast magazine.

Scott is a fine character actor and has gained several notable acting credits on TV; from  ITV’s Crossroads and BBC’s Doctors to ITV’s Emmerdale, Channel 4’s Shameless and BBC1’S Casualty in a mixture of demanding roles. His roles have seen him excel in playing many characters; from a stressed doctor to a tough guy, not to mention a male gigolo ! 

2015 sees him in play the demanding role of Sean Watkins in Midwinter of the Spirit, a new 3 part drama for ITV Encore, alongside David Threlfall and Anna Maxwell Martin.

He is a fine actor capable of performing in a natural Northern accent and has shown he can also pull off many Southern UK accents very well.   

FILM: Scott played the lead role of Tristan for Merlin international in his early career. Since then he has appeared in numerous film council funded short films and comes across well on the big screen. 

THEATRE: 

On stage Scott’s appeared in several comedy and serious plays; notably a national tour with Vicki Michelle and the late Paul Shane for Ian Dickens Productions. He’s recently completed a national tour of the comedy play Shady Business for Talking Scarlet.

Scott first displayed his singing talents nationally on Celebrity Stars in their Eyes and has since gone on to share the stage with multimillion selling artists such as David Cassidy, Alexander O’Neil and Motown legends Martha Reeves, and Candi Staton  New Kids on The Block star Jordan Knight to name but a few.

He’s combined his acting and singing talents to star in several pantomimes including Aladdin, Snow White and Cinderella performing at venues including Charter Theatre Preston, Camberley Theatre, Alexandra Theatre Bognor Regis,Theatre Royal Margate, Floral Pavilion New Brighton & Grand Opera House Belfast. 2014/15 saw him headline as Genie at the Lowther Pavilion, Lytham St Annes.
