BACKGROUND: Cherise Weaver is Merseyside born and bred, she started as a child actress and performer appearing in a variety of productions during her youth. These early stepping stones paved the way for her to build a career as a talented professional actress. She graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a BA (Hon’s) in Creative Performing Arts in 2003 and in 2013 gained an MA (Hon’s) in Making Performance (Practice as Research) from Edgehill University.
TELEVISION: Cherise’s first TV role came when she played the lead guest role of Carmen in series 2 of the acclaimed ITV drama Liverpool 1. Cherise’s character Carmen was a good time girl working the streets of Liverpool who provides the police with important information when she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. Carmen tries to gain some money from the police for the information she knows, later as the plot unfolds she is brought in to the police station for intense questioning before leading the police to the site of a dead body. The role demanded high quality drama scenes for Cherise who gave an excellent portrayal and played opposite the series lead actor Samantha Womack. The show has been seen several times on the ITV network. Cherise certainly has a wide range of skills and excellent ability to transfer into quality drama or light hearted comedy television.
STAGE: Cherise Weaver’s stage work has seen her play at many famous Liverpool theatres notably playing Chielo in By the Rivers at the Liverpool Eveyman and Playhouse. Other venues in the city she has played at include the Epstein Theatre (formerly Neptune Theatre) and Unity Theatre.
She has delivered and took part in many issue based educational plays for a number of TIE companies across the North West to include Catalyst Performing Arts and Merseyside Young Peoples Theatre (Fuse). She has also taken part in corporate touring role play for the NHS about blood donors entitled ‘Unsung Heroes’.
COMMERCIAL: Commercials to date include projects for high profile soft drinks and retail brands.
HOBBIES: Cherise lives with her children and in her spare time enjoys teaching and facilitating young persons drama groups in the local community across Merseyside and even directs for some groups including Plaza youth and community group, Blackout productions and Dingle Community Theatre.
